Let’s talk about Kickstarter and Indiegogo and why we have chosen this way to launch the Ergo SpoutTM.
Kickstarter and Indiegogo are crowdfunding platforms. They are sites that allow anyone to raise money from a crowd of people namely anyone with an internet connection. By using crowdfunding, interested people, called backers, can commit to purchase a product before it’s produced. Those pre-committed funds go towards a crowdfunding goal. If the company raising the money fails to make their goal, then everyone gets their money back and the project isn’t funded. If the goal is reached, then the money can be used to produce the product.
In the case of the Ergo SpoutTM, our biggest startup expense will be the molds. Injection molding is the most commonly used manufacturing process for the fabrication of plastic parts. We will need to purchase molds in order to mass produce the Ergo SpoutTM. The problem is the molds are EXPENSIVE! Like tens of thousands of dollars expensive.
That’s where you and crowdfunding come in. If you choose to back the Ergo SpoutTM when it goes live, you will be partnering with us to make the Ergo SpoutTM a reality. We plan to use the funds raised through crowding funding to purchase the molds and manufacture the ErgoSpoutTM. The truth is that we wouldn’t have the means without your help.
So thanks for following along. We are so excited that you are here and that we will be able to bring you the Ergo SpoutTM in just a few months’ time.
