3 Problems with Mason Jars

Although Mason Jars are great kitchen items with endless uses, they’re not perfect. Mason Jars are made of glass, which can sometimes pose problems in the kitchen, making their use less effective than we’d like. Still, we continue buying Mason Jars because we love them.  Luckily, Culinesco's products can make our beloved jars even better!

Mason jars are slippery when wet and will break if dopped

As noted, Mason Jars are made of glass, and anyone who’s handled glass knows it’s not always the easiest to grip. Glass is fragile and has no traction, making it extremely slippery when wet.  Because it’s so slippery, it’s also easy to drop, which is a potential hazard in the kitchen.

To solve this problem, use one of our Mason Jar spouts. Our regular mouth and wide mouth Ergo Spouts® feature a silicone-like handle which provides a secure grip. Instead of grabbing the jar itself, you can grab onto a comfortable, sturdy handle, making the jar easy to lift. This eliminates any chance of dropping and shattering and ensures a safe working environment. Say goodbye to accidental drops and hello to complete safety.

Mason jars are not insulated

At first thought, a jar not being insulated doesn’t seem like a big deal. What’s the problem, right? Well, unfortunately, lots of problems can arise if a jar isn’t insulated, and they extend far beyond keeping your food at your desired temperature.

Mason jars are glass so the outside of the jar takes on the temperature of its contents rather than its environment. This means that if the jar is filled with hot liquids or food, the outside is going to be hot to the touch.  Touching the glass unprotected can result in severe burns.

Our wide mouth and regular mouth Ergo Spouts® can come to the rescue again! Instead of grabbing the Mason Jar full of hot contents utilize the spout and grab the jar with a handle. This will prevent burns and still allow you to serve the contents of your Mason Jar while they’re still hot.

Mason jars are messy to pour from

If you’ve ever tried pouring from a Mason Jar, you know how messy of a process it can be. Its lip makes pouring a bit of a nightmare because you waste whatever’s inside as it drips down the side. Plus, you’re still at risk for spilling.

Instead of losing the contents of your Mason Jar, use an Ergo Spout®. Our spouts carefully and deliberately pour the contents of your Mason Jar at your speed and direction, ensuring you only use the amount you want and it lands where it’s supposed to. Once you put an Ergo Spout® on your Mason Jar, you’ll never have a mess again (at least not from your Mason Jars).

So yes, there are problems that come with Mason Jars, but thanks to our Ergo Spouts®, they are easily solved. Shop our dispensers here to solve your Mason Jar problems.

I love having a handle on my jars now! I always seem to be in a hurry in my kitchen when I’m food prepping for the week. These jars are perfect and prevent me from breaking anything! They also help my muffing tins stay so clean when I’m prepping our Breakfast Muffins. They have saved me so much clean up time. My whole family has both sizes in their homes now. We all love them and more than one often show up at our Family Dinners with something delicious inside.
